Blended learning means incorporating some technology to support what you are teaching. Also to vary methods used and utilise what students already use in their day to day lives eg. facebook, mobile phones, etc.
Blended learning means leveraging both technology and other media simultaneously to enhance the learning environment. For example, using the smartboard in the classroom to show a Youtube video and then facilitating a class dicussion around it, perhaps using a suplimentary worksheet that is hard copy or on word. Good blended learning will embed best practice use of technology and software and create a stimulating and diverse learning environment
I taught on a blended learning Coaching & Mentoring course. Students came in to college one evening a week and the second evening they studied off-site using blogging, group discussions and work related case studies.

Well done all of you. Blended Learning has so many meanings. In it's most basic form (many moons ago) just wheeling a TV into the classroom was considered blending. A mix of distance and face-to-face lessons are also a blend. In this module we will be focusing on how we can blend face-to-face traditional teaching with a range of technology. We may be considering activities that extended the classroom hours and also encourage our learners to collaborate. I am relly looking forward to seeing what you all experiment with for your assignments. It should prove to be an exciting year with this group.
